![]() Charles' mother Mary died in 1874 while they were living in Indiana. In 1875 his father moved the family back to Maryland. They moved into a house on Caroline Street in Baltimore City. In 1891 Charles married Mary Snyder (daughter of John Snyder, an immigrant from Germany and a shoemaker in Baltimore City). They had three children:
Charles worked as a house carpenter in his own contractor business. The family lived on Eager street from 1900 to 1920. They moved to Bond Street and then later to Roland Park.
